Carl Patterson, 91, of Cape Girardeau, MO, died Friday, October 09, 2026 at St. Francis Medical Center.He was born May 2, 1935 in De Soto, MO to Carl Alexander and Beatrice Adeline (Walker) Patterson.He and Shirley Ann Wigger were married March 3, 1956 (First Baptist Church De Soto) until her death in 2024. https://www.semissourian.com/obituaries/shirley-patterson-df6a680aAfter graduating from De Soto HS in 1953 Carl enlisted in the US Marines from 1954 through 1957 achieving the rank of Sergeant. After his military service he attended Central Methodist College in Fayette and St. Paul School of Theology in Kansas City, MO. Melvin Herbert Schmidt

Melvin H. Schmidt (age 94) went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 10, 2026,He was born in Altenburg, MO on April 4, 1932 to Martin J. and Leah E. Bachmann Schmidt.  Mel was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg.  He graduated from St. Paul Lutheran High School in Concordia, Mo. in 1950.   He and Doris J. Saupe were married August 25, 1956 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Shawneetown, MO. Mel served in the US Army in Germany during the Korean conflict. Upon completion of basic training with the 101st Airborne Infantry in Kentucky he was stationed in Germany where he served as company clerk and interpreter.  After returning from service, he worked in various accounting related positions in St Louis and Cape Girardeau and formed his own firm in 1984.   He was a graduate of St. Louis University (all evening classes) and…
