Iona Tootie Mae Berggren Johnson 94 years of age of Beatrice passed away on Friday May 15 2026 at the Good Samaritan Society in Beatrice. She was born on November 15 1931 near St. Paul to Lester and Grace Townsend Berggren. Iona attended Belleville High School in Belleville Kansas. She married Bill Hughes in 1948 and to this union were born 4 children. They lived in several states and then settled in Jamestown Kansas where the kids went to school. Iona married Glenn Johnson in 1979 and to this union she gained 5 bonus children. Iona was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Beatrice and was a regular at the Senior Center. She enjoyed traveling to visit all of her children and grandchildren Husker football games sewing and socializing with friends and family.
