Chester L. Mattice Jr. age 90 of Hamburg IA passed away on Thursday August 13 2026 at Grape Community Hospital in Hamburg. Chester Lawrence Mattice Jr. was born on February 11 1936 in Hamburg IA the son of Chester L. Sr. and Jessie M. Webster Mattice. He grew up and attended school in Hamburg graduating from Hamburg High School with the Class of 1954. After high school Chester joined the United States Marine Corps and proudly served his country until his honorable discharge in 1957. On March 4 1963 he married Gloria Bashaw in Omaha NE. They shared nearly 62 years together before her passing on February 1 2025. Chester was a farmer most of his life and he was also a truck driver. Larry was born on March 21 1942 in Bedford IA the son of Russell and Nelle McGee. He attended Bedford IA Community Schools served as a U.S. Marine graduated from Coe College Cedar Rapids IA and graduated from the FBI Academy Quantico VA.
