Frances (Simpson) Mallon, 82, passed away peacefully at her winter home on Grand Cayman, on March 7, 2026, surrounded by love, with her devoted husband by her side. Despite living for several years with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP), Fran remained actively involved with her family and community facing her illness with remarkable courage and strength.Born on December 22, 1943, in Roanoke, Virginia, Fran was the beloved daughter of Rex and Wilda (Garrett) Simpson. From an early age, she saw the world through an artist’s eyes, beginning to paint at just five years old—a passion that remained at the heart of her life.Fran graduated with a BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1966. She followed her dreams, building a meaningful career in marketing.
