A memorial service will be held on Tuesday July 7 2026 at 11 AM at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen NH. If you wish to honor his service a funeral procession will be held starting at 42 Main Street Newport NH at 9 AM traveling through Sunapee New London Wilmot Andover and Salisbury before arriving in Boscawen. People are welcome to line the procession route. Eightythree years ago a seventeenyearold boy left New Hampshire to serve a cause greater than himself. As a radiogunner aboard a TBM3 Avenger he gave his last full measure of devotion in the skies over the South Pacific on March 16 1945. Though he was lost to his family he was never truly forgotten. Camellia Iris Horne 96 of Newport NH passed away peacefully surrounded in love by her family on June 22. 2026. She was a cherished mother grandmother great grandmother and friend and her presence will be deeply missed. Iris was born in New York City NY on January 10 1930 to the late Marshall Costello and Camellia H Day. She grew up in Haverhill MA then moved to Exeter NH where she attended and graduated from Robinson Female Seminary a prominent girls high school. Iris then went onto Kathleen Dell Business School in Boston MA. In 1949 Iris married the late Robert G. Horne and together they had eight children. In 1972 they moved to The Farm on Route 10 in Newport NH. Iris lived a very active fulfilling life raising her children traveling ballroom dancing writing enjoying nature and spending time with her grandchildren. Her career was in business working…

David A. Murgatroy passed from his earthly home to meet the Lord on June 26 2026. He was surrounded by his wife of 55 years and loving family. David was born in Newport NH on December 7 1948 to Ida Holmes Murgatroy and William Murgatroy Sr. and grew up on Whitcher Rd. with his older brother Bill and two younger sisters Brenda and Bonnie. David graduated from Newport High School in 1967 where he enjoyed his automotive and shop classes along with playing football. Throughout high school he worked at Pricillas Sweet shop and loved working for the Saggiotis Family. He married his high school sweetheart Pamela Bond in 1971 and moved to Mountain View Lake in Sunapee NH where they fostered a loving home for their two children and later four grandchildren.
