Mary Patricia Gaggin 90 passed away on October 9 2026. Born in Bayonne New Jersey on November 4 1935 she was the beloved daughter of Julia and William ONeill. The oldest of four children Mary also known as Pat grew up alongside her three younger brothers James William and Richard. Mary graduated from Bayonne Hospital School of Nursing in 1956 as a Registered Nurse. Shortly after she married the love of her life Thomas Gaggin. Together they built a beautiful life and raised their five children in Haworth New Jersey where they enjoyed more than 40 wonderful years. Mary spent most of her nursing career working at Pascack Valley Hospital in Westwood New Jersey where she worked for over 30 years until her retirement in 1999. Ernie was born on June 30th 1945 the oldest of 4 children to Ernest and Margaret Jellema Nienhouse in North Haledon. He graduated from Eastern Christian Grammar School and Paterson Technical and Vocational School in Paterson. He joined the United States Navy and proudly served from 1965 to 1969 including a tour of duty off the coast of Vietnam on an aircraft carrier fixing the airplanes. Upon returning he was a truckdiesel mechanic and with his strong work ethic tried to make sure the truck never returned for that issue. He could usually tell the make of a truck by the sound of the engine. 25 years ago Ernie moved back to North Haledon to the home he grew up in after living in Hawthorne for many years.…
