As a boy growing up in Long Branch Tom was active in the Boy Scouts earning the rank of Life Scout. He was a charter member of the Long Branch Junior Chamber of Commerce a former Captain of the PortauPeck Chemical Hose Company and a former Lieutenant in the Oceanport First Aid Squad. He also served as a football official in Monmouth and Ocean Counties and was a longtime member of the Long Branch Ice Boat and Yacht Club joining at the age of fourteen. Messineo Ann was the eldest of three girls. A brilliant student Ann attended Benedictine Academy and graduated with honors from Trinty College in Washington D.C. Born in Neptune she lived in Neptune Virginia and Pennsylvania before returning tge Neptune area about 40 years ago. Linda was a devoted member of St. James Church in Bradley Beach where she sang in the choir for over 30 years. She had a lifelong love of music and especially enjoyed singing. She worked for many years as a pharmacy technician and at at Naval Weapons Station Earle and later as a home health care aid. Linda loved spending time at the Jersey Shore. She enjoyed walking the boardwalk and going to the beach in Ocean Grove and Bradley Beach. She also loved sewing knitting and doing needlepoint.
