A devoted public servant and mentor, Roy dedicated his life to helping others through his service in firefighting, emergency medical services, and numerous community organizations.Roy proudly served in the United States Air Force as a firefighter from 1955 to 1960. Following his military service, he worked as a dispatcher for the New York Fire Department, from which he later retired. His commitment to service extended far beyond his career—he also volunteered with the Volunteer Heart Resuscitation Unit and served as a firefighter in Staten Island.His lifetime of volunteerism was both long and distinguished.
