Charles Vernon Brocklebank Sr., 96, of Forked River passed away on Monday, August 17, 2026 at home surrounded by his family. Charles (Popsie) was born in Freehold and moved to Forked River in 1953. Throughout his distinguished career, Charles worked for Box Supply, Parker Industries, and ultimately the Lacey Township Department of Public Works. There he utilized his exceptional skills as a carpenter and heavy equipment operator for a multitude of municipal projects. Charles was a U.S. Army Veteran who served during the Korean War.  Popsie was a life member of the Forked River Volunteer Fire Company where he served the community for over fifty years. He also enjoyed woodworking, fixing up his backyard, working on his pond, and camping with his family.Charles was predeceased by his son Brocky (2005). She was raised in Hazlet NJ where she went to Raritan High School where she met and married her high school sweetheart James Elefante. They moved to Little Egg Harbor in 1977 raised their two beautiful daughters Kristina Michelle. After graduating from Demarest High School Joe pursued his passion for real estate and insurance by enrolling in the Professional School of Business for Real Estate and Insurance in 1967. In 1968 he founded his own real estate and insurance company Mezzina Real Estate which has stood the test of time and continues to thrive nearly 60 years later.
