Prescott Michael Haley 65 of Austerlitz N.Y. passed away suddenly in his home on Tuesday August 18 2026. Prescott was born in Albany N.Y. to Elizabeth F. Prescott and John L. Haley on May 17 1961. He went to high school at Ichabod Crane Central and graduated in 1980. During his time at I.C.C he and his brother John were star basketball players. Prescott worked for Amtrak for 15 years in the Material Control Dept. Prescott longed to be outdoors and so left Amtrak for the wide open spaces of Columbia County where he sought work as a landscaper and grounds person for various land conservancies and private estates where his landscape artistry blossomed. For the last 11 years he was the Property Manager for the Edna St. Vincent Millay Society at Steepletop in Austerlitz N. Y. where he lovingly did all the landscaping creating a masterpiece each season. He…
