Terry J. Glover 65 of Route 11 in Homer passed away on August 6 2026 following a period of declining health. A lifelong area resident Terry was born on December 16 1960 a son of the late Doyle Glover Sr. and Harriet L. Ewing. Terry served his country faithfully and honorably for a total of 23 years in the United States Air Force. He enlisted in 1980 and continued his service until his honorable discharge in 2004. His final call to active duty from the reserves came on September 11 2001. For many years Terry worked as a lineman for Verizon where he was known as a hardworking and wellrespected employee. A true jackofalltrades he could fix nearly anythingwhether the job called for carpentry plumbing auto repair or a bit of help from Terry the selfproclaimed tech geek. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rita J. Goddard 79 of North Main St. Homer. Rita passed away on August 4 2026 with loving family by her side. A lifelong area resident Rita was born July 13 1947 the daughter of the late Robert Jackson and Jane Christopher. Rita walked through life with an unwavering faith trusting in goodness and love above all else. For many years she was an active member of the Homer United Methodist Church where she couldbe found volunteering at church dinners and giving her time to others. Ritas greatest joy in life was her family and friends. Her children and grandchildren were at the very center of her heart. There was no place she would rather be. Whether she was cheering on her children and grandchildren at their sporting events gathering around the table for a meal or simply sharing…

He was a lifelong resident of Cortland and loved sitting on his front porch and talking with family friends and neighbors. He was a wonderful listener and loved hearing their stories. It reflected the way he grew up on Cannone Street with many family and friends in the neighborhood. Joes father passed when he was just fourteen years old leading to an especially close bond with his mother and dear younger brother Philip Phil Convertini. The two remained close throughout their lives sharing a lifelong brotherly friendship. Joe attended SUNY Delhi and then received his mechanical engineering degree from the SUNY Polytech Institute in Utica. He worked as an engineer for Buckbee Mears in Cortland Mitten Fluid Power in Syracuse and ended his career at Pall Corp in Cortland NY.
