CARTHAGE Mark John Merkley 66 of South Jefferson Street passed away on Saturday October 10 2026 at Roswell Park Cancer Center Buffalo. He is survived by several cousins special friends and coworkers. He is predeceased by two sets of twin siblings Wilson and William and Ronald and Ruth. Mark was born on September 26 1960 in Watertown NY a son of the late Hugh and Nina Martin Merkley and graduated from Carthage High School in 1978. He graduated from Eastern Mennonite College in Harrisonburg VA in 1983 with a bachelors degree in chemistry. Mark worked at River Valley Mennonite School before going to work for Watertown City School District for 20 years first in food service and then working his way up to head custodian at Wiley School. BRANTINGHAMLIVERPOOL Donna E. Duda 79 of Brantingham formerly of Liverpool passed away on Friday October 9 2026 at Upstate Medical University Hospital Syracuse NY. She is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years Stanley a daughter Jennifer Creamer two grandchildren Molly Creamer and Max Creamer nieces nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her parents a brother Neil Swanson and her twin sister Deanna Meister. Donna was born on April 26 1947 in Westmoreland NY a daughter of the late Lysle and Marjorie Batty Swanson. She was a graduate of Westmoreland High School and attended secretarial school after high school. On August 17 1968 she married Stanley F. Duda in Lewis County NY. In 1968 Donna started her career as a secretary at Nate Perry Elementary School in the Liverpool Central School District where she worked for over 33 years until her retirement in 2001.
