Richard Arthur Meili Sr. 89 passed away peacefully at home on August 15 2026. Born in Rochester New York on November 21 1936 he was the son of the late Albert and Martha Schroeder Meili and grew up in Greece New York. Dick graduated from St. Lawrence University and earned a masters degree in mathematics from the University of Iowa. While teaching at St. Lawrence he met the love of his life Lynne who was also a teacher at the university. After marrying in Canton New York they lived in several parts of the country before settling in Whitesboro where they raised their three children. Dick taught mathematics at Mohawk Valley Community College and served as head of the Mathematics Department. Following his retirement after 27 years at MVCC Dick and Lynne moved to Waterville New York where they enjoyed peaceful country living with their horses and dogs. An avid…

He was born in Cementon PA on August 23 1933 the son of the late one Juan Selvaggio and Mildred Genovese Selvaggio. He grew up in Bethlehem PA and graduated from high school there. Coming from a family of singers John was inspired to sing at an early age. After graduating from high school he went on the road traveling the East and the Midwest as a single performer and with show bands for a few years. He then settled in New York for about 10 years where he studied voice with Carlo Menotti and played nightclubs in New York City Long Island and the Catskills. He also played the Concorde Grossingers the Copacabana Harlows Basin Street Palumbos and The Three Rivers Inn of Syracuse were some of the places he played.
