Dean Eric Evans, 64, of Rome, NY, passed away unexpectedly on October 10, 2026. He was born in Rome, NY, on January 29, 1962, the son of Gordon and Arletta Evans. He grew up in Stanwix Heights, NY, and graduated from Westmoreland High School. After completing his business education at the Utica School of Commerce he worked for True Value in Rome for many years. He eventually found his true calling caring for others when he became employed at the ARC Oneida-Lewis Chapter of NY. Dean met the love of his life, Marie Demarius, and together they raised her daughters, Shance and Sophie, who he loved as his own. He was well known for his sense of humor and bartering, always searching marketplace, looking for some new project to work on. Anthony R. Squadrito, 74, of Rome, passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at the Abraham House of Rome. Born in Rome on July 8, 1952, he was a son of the late John and Loretta (Youngs) Squadrito. On July 7, 1973, he was united in marriage to Shirley Potter. Anthony served his country in the United States Army from 1969-76 and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He later served three years in the National Guard. After being Honorably Discharged from the Army, he began a career at Rome Cable Corporation. Anthony attended the Rome Wesleyan Church. He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans and a member of the American Legion. He attended several veterans events each year, where he enjoyed talking with fellow veterans and others about military service.
