We announce the passing of John Peter Wynne on February 10 2026. He is survived by his wife of 49 years Kathleen. His son Danny and wife Tara Wynne. Daughter Karen Wynne Derrico and soninlaw Marc . His grandchildren Brady Ella Tristan and Bradley. Sister Mary Beth and husband Paul Leggett and his nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents John and Eleanor Wynne his brother Kevin Wynne and Niece Kaylyn Wynne. John Peter Wynne was born in Scranton Pennsylvania to parents John and Eleanor Wynne. Raised in the Kingsbridge section of the Bronx later moving to Yonkers graduating from Gorton High School where he excelled in basketball and held city records for Track. Upon graduation he served in the army from 1972 to 1974. He then joined the family business the NYPD for 26 years retiring as a detective in the Bronx Homicide Squad. He then spent…
