Mackenzie Clay Gilliam, 22, of Raleigh, NC, passed away on Friday, September 11, 2026. A native of Alamance County, she recently graduated from NC State University and was preparing to begin graduate school.Mackenzie embraced life with curiosity and joy. She loved traveling abroad, riding rollercoasters, and playing volleyball. She cherished her flag football teammates and saw them as her second family. She was also a devoted Chicago Bears fan. Her kindness toward others was one of her most beautiful traits, and she was admired for her infectious, vibrant spirit. She lived life to the fullest—a beautiful soul gone far too soon.She is survived by her mother, Cyndi Prevette Gilliam; her maternal grandparents, Joe and Judy Prevette; her aunt, Michele Rinaldi; cousins Cloe, Emma, and Kaylee; her uncle and aunt, Thomas Gilliam and Stacy Blanchette; and her sibling, Cooper.
