Donald Stephen OKelley Sr. 72 of Buncombe County North Carolina passed away on August 8 2026. Born on November 19 1953 in Buncombe County he was the son of the late Walter Dewey OKelley and Helen Israel OKelley. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Charles Chuck Richard OKelley. Donald graduated from A.C. Reynolds High School in 1972 and later attended the Carolina School of Broadcasting. Following his training he worked as an announcer for WKJV radio. As his health declined he transitioned to work as a security guard for several manufacturing facilities. Donald was a devoted Braves fan for many yearsuntil Freddie Freemans move to the Dodgers at which point he proudly shifted his allegiance. Dorothy Plemmons Bumpus 80 of Hendersonville NC passed away Tuesday August 4 2026 at the Margaret R. Pardee Memorial Hospital of UNC Health. Born April 12 1946 in Asheville NC she was a daughter of the late Dock Fletcher Plemmons and Ruth Hunnicutt Plemmons. She was a graduate of North Buncombe High School class of 1964. She was devout to her faith and her church Biltmore Church where she enjoyed running the coffee counter and greeting other parishioners. At home she liked to work in her flower gardens and show off her green thumb skills. Roses were her favorite flower although they always seemed to be the most challenging for her. Dorothy had a beautiful heart and was kind to everyone. She never knew a stranger. She was preceded in death by her son Darren Bishop.
