Grady Allen Moore, age 31, of Harpertown Circle, Lenoir, passed away Monday, March 30, 2026, at his residence. He was born May 10, 1994, in Caldwell County to the late Ricky Allen Moore and Ramona Jean Andrews Burgess of Greenwood, SC. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Journee Moore; siblings, Linda Moore and Roby Moore; his stepfather, Douglas Burgess; and both his maternal and paternal grandparents.Grady attended Highways to Hedges Church in Lenoir and had previously worked at JBS Foods. Grady was truly one of a kind with a smile bigger than him. His heart was of gold, and he never met a stranger. Once you met him you would never forget him. Rebecca Nell Whitener Huffman

Rebecca Nell Whitener Huffman, 94, of Hickory, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Carolina Caring.Born September 26, 1931, in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late William Henry Whitener and Nellie Grae Sigmon Whitener.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Huffman; and a brother, Billy Whitener.She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Hickory and was retired from teaching after 25 years at Mountain View Elementary School.Rebecca enjoyed playing the piano and traveling but her main sense of enjoyment was spending time with her family. She will be missed by all who knew her.She is survived by her son, Charles William Huffman; daughter, Dianne Huffman; sisters: Carolyn Hampton and husband Harold, Alice Ray Potter, Linda Catherine Gordon and husband Julian; numerous, nieces, nephews and former students whom she remembered fondly.The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on…

Marvin “Ricky” Leroy Nelson of Lenoir passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at UNC Blue Ridge Hospital, Lenoir.Born September 30, 1971, in Caldwell County to the late Jasper Leroy Nelson and Lois Carlene Townsend Nelson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by half-brother Lanie Mitchell; and sister LouAnn N.
