David William Barger, age 50 of Hickory, passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 at his residence.He was born on December 26, 1975 to the late Larry Barger and Linda Barger in Catawba county. David was a loving son, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin, friend, and cat Dad. He was a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan! Kind and warm hearted, David led his life with integrity. He loved to joke around. His family and friends will not forget his cute grin and classic Dave chuckle. David enjoyed hunting from a young age with his dad and well into adulthood where he graciously shared venison with family and friends. Music was a big part of David's life. Alice “Faye” Hefner Yancey, age 88, of Maiden, passed away Saturday, October 10, 2026 at Levine & Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville. Born October 9, 1938, in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Alvin “Al” Hefner and Ada Lail Hefner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela White Isenhour; and a brother, Tommy L. Hefner.Faye retired from the furniture industry, where she dedicated many years of hard work as a sewer and supervisor. She was known for her strong work ethic, wonderful sense of humor, and the love she poured into her family. A talented cook and skilled canner, Faye found joy in preparing food, especially her famous potato salad, and sharing it with those she loved.
