Shortly after graduating high school he entered the militaryNational Guard from 1979 to 1987 while working a full time job. Wayne had a love for sports whether he was watching playing or coaching young people which he did for many years. He also enjoyed fishing hunting and cooking. His favorite sports teams were the Tarheels and the L.A. Rams however he saw his family as the best team ever.
