Evelyn Sheffield Gray 88 of Thomasville passed away Sunday morning May 17 2026 at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington. Evelyn was born May 21 1937 to the late Roe Sheffield and Sadie Hill Sheffield of Randolph County. She provided a loving home for her family and for many years also made a career in health care as a clerical worker. Evelyn was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Thomasville. In addition to her parents Evelyn was preceded in death by an infant son Jeffrey two brothers Willard and James Sheffield. Surviving are her husband of 71 wonderful years Sammy E. TeTaurus departed this life on May 10 2026 at Forsyth Medical Center in WinstonSalem NC. TeTaurus was preceded in death by his father Alvin Dwayne Caldwell. Te as he was well known as attended Thomasville City School. Te enjoyed watching basketball and football with his favorite team being Duke. Te was a helping hand and a solid friend to all. She was a faithful member of Unity United Methodist Church until her declining death. She owned and operated her own Hair Salon for many years. She was a very talented artist and always took pride in her appearance. Carolyn lived a life marked by kindness strength and devotion to her family and friends.
