Linda Overstreet Hicks age 74 died Thursday morning at UNC Johnston Health. Born October 20 1951 in Lunenburg County VA to the late Arthur William and Janie Annie Hancock Overstreet she was the widow of Phillip Lee Hicks and was preceded in death by her brother Arthur William Bubba Overstreet sisters Judy Mertsch Gerhard Laura Jessee William and Betty Dawson Tom mother and fatherinlaw Jessie and Marie Hicks and soninlaw George Crocker Sr. The family will receive friends on Saturday April 4 2026 at the Parrish Funeral Home in Selma from 100 200 pm with a funeral service to follow in the chapel. A private graveside service will be held later. Delma V. McLamb 90 of Smithfield NC went to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday April 2 2026 surrounded by his family. He was born March 11 1936 to the late James Wilbert McLamb and Lula Ingram McLamb. He was married to Frances Hartley McLamb. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by brothers James C.L. Joseph Buck and sisters Alma Cobb and Velma Wadsworth. Mr. McLamb was a proud United States Army Veteran. He served over 4 years and reached the rank of SP5 E5 T. He was a member of the American Legion Post 405 and he retired from Natvar. In his retirement years Mr. McLamb along with his wife Frances helped Craig and Martha Casey at Casey Funeral Home in Princeton serve the funeral home families Mr. McLamb was a Charter Member of the Brogden Volunteer Fire Department.
