John Scott Jr. of Hamilton went home to be with our Heavenly Father while at the UNC Health Burn Unit in Chapel Hill NC on March 29 2026. John became a volunteer fireman at the age of 18 at the Hamilton Fire Department. He was the Fire Chief of Hamilton Fire Department for 27 years. He was a lifelong member of Hamilton Baptist Church. John was a diesel mechanic specializing in farm machinery. He was employed at Everett Matthews in Hamilton and when they closed he worked at CR Equipment in Williamston for 13 years. In his free time John loved to fish and hunt. John was predeceased by his parents Mrs. Clara Mae and Mr. Johnnie Scott daughter Suzanne Scott and brother James Howard "Shotgun" Scott.
