Terry Louis Kouns 89, departed this life peacefully with family by his side at First Health Hospice House on Friday, March 27, 2026.A celebration of Terry’s life will be held Saturday, April 11, 2026 at 1:00 pm at First Baptist Church in Southern Pines officiated by Rev. Carolyn Helms.Terry was born in Ashland, Ky, the son of William Louis (Joner) Kouns and Mary Louise Remmele Kouns and was a graduate of Marshall University.Terry lived a rich and wonderful life that included a successful career in the footwear industry that spanned over 50 years and a lifelong love of golf and tennis. In his later years he loved to spend time at the driving range at CCNC where he was affectionately known as the Mayor.Terry was a devoted husband to his wife of 61 years and love of his life, Susan Quarles Kouns who preceded him in death in 2019.
