Lillian Mamie Swaney Chaney 99 passed away peacefully on Tuesday March 31 2026 at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare in Wilmington. Funeral services will be held Friday April 3 2026 at 1200 PM at Jones Funeral Home Jacksonville Chapel. Burial will immediately follow at Onslow Memorial Park. Lillian was born on October 27 1926 in Duplin County North Carolina to the late Joseph Swaney and Gertrude Albertson Swaney. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Vester Lewis Chaney her siblings Milo Swaney Frank Swaney Mary Lou Swaney grandchild Sean Chaney and greatgrandchild Rachael Bromley. Survivors include her children Linda Bell Lester Harriet Moore Gary and Tony Chaney. Her grandchildren Regina Weir Jeffrey Stephanie Kervin Jason Mason Douglas Kevin Chaney LeAshley and Micki Marshburn.
