Thomas Johnson Jr. was born July 4 1938 in Avery County NC to the late Tom and Stella Lewis Johnson. He was the first born of 13 children. He married Jean P. Johnson on June 27 1959. He started his lifelong dream job in 1963 and became a NC State Highway Patrolman. After 30 years of service he retired in 1992. He then went to work part time for the Rutherford County Sheriffs Department in the RUOK program. He volunteered at Habitat for Humanity and for many years served on many nonprofit boards. He was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church where he taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. He is a Past Master of the Forest City Masonic Lodge No. 381 A.F.A.M and Past President of the Fraternal Order of Police. Junior shared a loving marriage with Jean for 58 years until her passing in…

Mary Willie Spake Jolley 95 of Chesnee South Carolina went home to be with the Lord on February 15 2026. Mary was predeceased by her husband Leonard Jolley parents Joe and Mary Sue Spake sisters Janie Ruth Spake and Lucille Spake Bridges JL and brother Joe Hubert Spake. She is survived by her brother John W. Spake sistersinlaw Beatrice Spake and Nancy Jolley as well as several nieces and nephews. Mary graduated from Chesnee High School and worked at Kress Department Store in downtown Spartanburg after finishing high school. She sold many bags of candy during the time she was there and was a very popular person with the little ones shopping with their parents. Connie Cash Cannon was born on May 29 1939 and now rests in peace with her Savior. She was a woman of faith and a devoted member of Arrowwood Baptist Church where she worshipped in the Baptist tradition. She was also a cherished member of the Golden Arrows where she found fellowship and community among those she held dear. When she was able Connie greatly enjoyed reading and traveling and she treasured the memories and experiences those times brought her. Connie was preceded in death by her parents James Chase Cash and Willie Mae Cash her brothers Jim Cash and Paul Cash and her late husband Bobby Oscar Stephen.
