Dennis L. Coldren age 74 of Forest City died Wednesday August 12 2026 at his home. Dennis was born on April 18 1952 in Cleveland Ohio and was a son of the late Clifford L. Coldren and Ruth Sheats Coldren. Dennis graduated from the University of South Florida with a degree in History and a secondary degree in Education. He chose to follow in this fathers footsteps and became an electrical technician in television and appliance repair. He was a former Sunday school teacher and he served in various roles in the churches he was a member of. He was currently a member of the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church of Forest City. Dennis also served as Boy Scout leader. Dennis was devoted to his family and his animals his dog Watson and his cat Sherlock. He cared for each of them with love and kindness. Together he and Kathy…

William W. Brown age 67 of Charlotte died Saturday August 8 2026. William was born on August 21 1958 in Rutherford County and was the son of the late William L. Brown and Helen Callahan Brown. He worked as an Automation and Control Engineer. William grew up in Forest City where he was baptized in the First Baptist Church and attended school. He was a graduate of East Rutherford High School where he played on the 1976 Championship Baseball team. He was an Eagle Scout a former EMT and member of the Rutherford County Rescue Crew and he had worked for the Forest City Daily Courier. William also attended N.C. State University Isothermal Community College CPCC and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where he received a degree in electrical engineering in 1987. Ashely was born on December 16 1965 in Roanoke Virginia and is the son of Robert Francis Quick and the late June Bradley Quick. Ashley was a former member of the First Baptist Church of Mooresville and a member of the First Baptist Church of Forest City. He worked for Freightliner with 21 years service In addition to his mother June he was also preceded in death by his mother and fatherinlaw Betty Ruth and Bill Huntley. Survivors include his wife of 36 years Karen Huntley Quick of the home his father Robert Bob Quick of Mooresville his brothers Shawn Quick and wife Linda and Bryan Quick all of Mooresville as well as his nephew Robert and nieces Megan and Heather.
