Sergeant Major Ret. David DeLane Underwood Sr. of Clinton North Carolina passed away on August 10 2026 at the age of 84. He was born in Clinton North Carolina on August 16 1941 to the late William Thomas Underwood and Juanita Butler Underwood. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter Vanessa Underwood and his sisters Clarissa Butler and Laurine Underwood Hill. Davids family meant the world to him. Simple visits and family gatherings were special to him. He welcomed so many as friends and family and he was also special to them. The military introduced him to even more friends who became a part of his extended family. He entered the United States Army in August 1959 and began his career as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg North Carolina. Paul was born in Spokane Washington on April 3 1934 to the late John and Mary Perko. He graduated from Stanford University with the Class of 1956 earning his degree in Mechanical Engineering. Paul went on to have a long and distinguished career as the CEO of North Coast Electric Company in Bellevue Washington where he was highly respected for his leadership and integrity. Outside of his professional life Paul was a sports fan who enjoyed golfing skiing and boating. He and his wife Wanda loved to travel including 35 years of annual trips to Cabo San Lucas. Interment with Military Honors will follow in North Lawn Memorial Gardens. Born in 1950 in Ohio Mr. Rizor was the son of the late Hershel D. and Eblis Elizabeth Kellen Rizor. He was a proud veteran having served in the United States Army for 20 years. Following his military career he was a Certified Public Accountant and drove a semitruck for sixteen years. Lloyd was one week shy of 90 years old and a large surprise birthday party was planned for August 8th at Salem Pizza.
