Ruth Ann Gibbons, age 83, of Ronda, passed away on Wednesday April 1, 2026 at her home.Ruth was born on July 9, 1942 in Watauga County to the late James Adams and Sarah "Kathleen" Combs Adams.In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by a daughter Kimberly Dawn Ward and a step father Narvie Moore.Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Roger Gibbons of the home, a daughter Melissa (Don Guilbault) Davis of Elkin; a brother Oliver (Linda) Adams of Sugar Grove; a sister Margaret (Rudy) Hartley of Zionsville; three grandchildren Jessica (Brandon) Suggs of Mountain City, Sarah (Carson) McCollum of Jonesville, and Katie Spicer of Elkin; step grandchildren Nicholas Guilbault of Republic of Georgia and Christopher Guilbault of Winston Salem; two great-grandchildren Lindsey Suggs and Colton McCollum; and several nieces and nephews.A celebration of life service will be held on Monday April 6, 2026…

Mrs. Peggy Mitchell Riley age 83 of Dobson passed away peacefully at her home on the evening of Wednesday April 1 2026. Mrs. Riley was born on July 6 1942 in Surry County to the late Willie G. Mitchell and Trudie East Mitchell. She was a dedicated and hardworking woman who spent many years employed as a shipping clerk with Hanes Hosiery. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband James C. Riley her children Angela Angie Riley and James E. Jamie Sylvia Riley her grandchildren Lakken Levi Long and Keith Weaver II and her greatgrandchildren Paisyn Durham Delylah Long Levi Long Jr. Madelynn Long and Isabelle Long. A funeral service for Mrs. Riley will be held at 200pm on Saturday April 4 2026 at Level Cross United Methodist Church with Rev. Heetae Kim officiating.
