Sherwood Keith Tyndall, 90, passed away on Thursday February 12, 2026, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center, surrounded by his loving family.Sherwood was born in Wayne County, North Carolina, on January 28, 1936, to the late John Henry “Jack” Tyndall and Flossie Minshew Tyndall. He was a proud graduate of Pikeville High School and maintained many lifelong friendships with members of the Class of 1954.Self-employed for most of his life, Sherwood owned several NAPA hardware stores in Raleigh before later founding Tyndall Trucking in Goldsboro. His work as a truck driver took him across the country, and he embraced life on the open road with enthusiasm. Always ready for an adventure, Sherwood’s love of travel continued into retirement, when he purchased a motorhome and explored the beauty of the United States.
