Sarah was the best mommy ever, not only did she raise her five children, she also helped raised many more. She was the prime example of responsibility, hard work, and one of the most caring people you would ever meet. She truly loved others as you would want to be loved. One of her favorite things was cooking for her family and others. She made the best biscuits, oatmeal, and cookies you’ve ever had. Sarah passed the love of cooking down to her children. She was a member of Beaver Creek Baptist Church. She loved taking care of everyone, the critters, and her flowers. She enjoyed cookbooks and magazines. Howard Lee Moore, age 92, of Wilkesboro, passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Forsyth Medical Center. Howard was born June 19, 1934, in Wilkes County to Rom Linnie and Effie Cora Bell Marlow Moore. He was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church in Wilkesboro. Howard was a good Christian, loved the Lord and had read the Bible from the start to the end. He retired from Goshen Fire Department after 20 years and retired from American Drew after 33 years of service. Howard enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. His passion was doing anything with and for the Church and was the number one pie-roller when Shady Grove made their delicious Apple Pies.
