Karen J. Thompson age 62 of Ashland passed away on August 1 2026 at UH Samaritan Regional Health System. She was born in Westerville Ohio on September 23 1963 the daughter Roger and Norma J. Muncie Hancock she had been a resident of Richland and Ashland Counties most of her life where she was a homemaker. Karen was a lover of animals and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was also a member of the Woodville Grace Brethren Church. Survivors include six children Ashley Thompson Andrew Thompson Joshua Thompson Tyler Thompson Heather Thompson and Jessica Thompson. Also surviving is her father Roger Hancock and numerous grandchildren. A time of remembrance will be held at the Heyl Funeral Home on Monday August 10 2026 from 100 pm till 200 pm

Barbara J. Drushel age 61 of Ashland passed away at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home on August 12 2026. Born in Ashland on May 24 1965 the daughter of Gene and Janet L. Huff Rowland. Barbara was married to James Jim Drushel on October 16 1993 and her husband precedes her in death. She and her husband Jim loved to be on PutInBay and Barbara was the manager at the Butterfly House. Surviving is her mother Janet Rowland of Ashland she is also survived by five siblings and their spouses Beckie Dan Munson of Ashland Steve Alice Rowland of Pine River Minnesota Bill Hope Rowland of Pequot Lakes Minnesota John Becca Rowland of Brainerd Minnesota and Jenny Brian Shepard of Pequot Lakes Minnesota. Born in Loudonville Ohio on May 27 1939 the son of Kenneth and Edith Lowery Hostler he was a resident of Ashland County most of his life. Robert had been employed as a manager with BP gas stations before his retirement. He enjoyed taking his 1964 Econoline van to car shows and he won many awards with it. He was also a model train enthusiast and enjoyed working on his layout and collection. In addition to his wife Betty Robert is survived by two daughters and sons in law Roberta Craig Young of Avon and Betsy Brent Moore of Mansfield. Also surviving are two grandsons Nathan Jackie Moore and Andrew Courtney Moore. Four great grandchildren also survive. Phyllis married Samuel G. Hinton on September 9 1961 and they shared 63 years of marriage before Samuels passing in May 2025. Following her marriage Phyllis earned her GED and devoted herself to both her family and her work. Over the years she provided childcare for many families worked for the former Gruter Foundation in New Pittsburg and later operated a housecleaning business. Ultimately she dedicated herself fully to her role as a homemaker creating a loving home for her family. A devoted member of her community Phyllis volunteered as an EMT with the New Pittsburg Fire Department for 25 years providing compassionate care and assistance to those in need.
