Daniel Harrison Yount Jr., of Ostrander, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 17, 2026, at the Country View of Sunbury. Daniel was born on April 3, 1947, in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Daniel Harrison Yount Sr and Hazle Ruth (Roberts) Yount. Daniel graduated from the Greenbrier Military School in the class of 1965. Following his graduation from high school, Daniel became a United States Marine serving actively in the Vietnam Conflict from 1966 - 1969. In this time, Daniel became a highly decorated veteran. Commendations he received include the Silver Star Medal, Bronze Star Medal, 3 Purple Heart Medals, and many more.After completing his service, Daniel worked as a Columbus Police Officer. Eventually becoming a truck driver and co-owner of his own trucking company. In his time trucking, Daniel became Kroger’s oldest driver at one time. She was born on October 7, 1966, in East Liverpool, Ohio, to the late Paul and Thelma (Edgell) Headley.Susan formally worked for AMG Industries in Mount Vernon in office administration. She was a former member of the Wellsville Christian Church. He spent his working years at PECO II in Galion, where he built transformers.Fred was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He is survived by his wife, Theresa; his daughter, Cassaundra (Troy) Everly; his brothers, Tim and Tom Tanner; his nieces, Alexis and Samantha Tanner; his nephews, Nathan and Anthony Tanner; his granddaughter, Lahna Nelson; and many great-nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Tanner Sr. and Betty Tanner.He loved sports, especially Buckeye and Steelers football and fantasy football.
