Daniel Harrison Yount Jr., of Ostrander, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 17, 2026, at the Country View of Sunbury. Daniel was born on April 3, 1947, in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Daniel Harrison Yount Sr and Hazle Ruth (Roberts) Yount. Daniel graduated from the Greenbrier Military School in the class of 1965. Following his graduation from high school, Daniel became a United States Marine serving actively in the Vietnam Conflict from 1966 - 1969. In this time, Daniel became a highly decorated veteran. Commendations he received include the Silver Star Medal, Bronze Star Medal, 3 Purple Heart Medals, and many more.After completing his service, Daniel worked as a Columbus Police Officer.
