Jimmie "Jim" Thompson passed away July 2 2026 at the age of 85. Born on November 18 1940 in Hazard KY to the late Emily nee Jones and Dan Thompson Sr. He is survived by his beautiful wife of 66 years Betty Jean nee Standafer whom he wed on July 2 1960 his loving daughter and soninlaw Celeste Donald Mellis cherished grandchildren Ryan Emily Butler and Heather Oliver Conn dear greatgrandchildren Audrey Caroline and June. Also survived by many nieces nephews other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents Jim was preceded in death by his siblings Laurie Buster Lula Flora Johnny Francis Ed Dan Jr. and Lloyd. Jim was an outdoorsman who found joy in fishing hunting and mowing the lawn. He was a devoted man of God who faithfully shared his faith and ministered to everyone the Lord placed in his path.
