During life Sherman worked in oil well drilling before becoming owner of the former Windy Hills Golf Club in Rockbridge Ohio. Sherman served in the Ohio National Guard and was a former member of the LoganHocking School Board The Hocking County Fair Board and had served as a Hocking County Commissioner. Sherman is survived by his wife Pauline StarrPrater daughters Becky Teresa and Wendy and sisters Sue McBroom and Billie Hoke. A funeral service officiated by Pastor John T. Williams will be held at the Roberts Funeral Home in Logan Ohio at 3 PM on Friday August 21 2026. Lucinda Vianne Cindy Lawson aged 76 of Union Furnace Ohio passed away at home on Monday August 10 2026. Born June 21 1950 in Logan Ohio she was the daughter of the late Robert J. and Denise Marie Jimmie Powell Dunn. During life Cindy worked in customer service for the former Logan Ames Department Store and Logan Walmart. She was a member of the Union Furnace Presbyterian Church Caring Hearts Grieving Group and the StarrWashington Auxiliary. Cindy greatly enjoyed baking and cooking and those close to her will surely remember her homecooked meals fondly. Aside from her parents Cindy is preceded in death by her son Dennis Lawson and brother Craig Dunn.
