Michael Anthony Smith 76 passed away Wednesday July 1 2026 at Genesis Hospice Morrison House. He was born July 28 1949 in Zanesville to the late Isaac W. and Dorothy Smith Jr. Michael was a 1967 graduate of Zanesville High School and received a bachelors degree in Social WorkPsychology from Ohio University Athens in 1971 where he was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. He retired from the City of Zanesville as an Electrical Inspector. After his retirement he was a volunteer for Genesis Hospital and Genesis Hospice Morrison House. He was an avid reader and enjoyed scuba diving motorcycles euchre pistols and shotguns. He was also a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church.
