Beverly Elaine Crane Kraus, 86, of Lebanon, Ohio, was born July 15, 1940, at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Verne and Grace (Allgeier) Crane. An only child, Bev grew up in Norwood, graduating from Norwood High School in 1958.Bev knew from an early age that she wanted to be a teacher. She attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, where she was a member of Delta Zeta sorority and earned her Bachelor of Science in Education in 1962. She remained a devoted Miami fan throughout her life, perhaps never more enthusiastically than during the RedHawks’ historic 2025–26 basketball season, when she happily stayed up well past midnight to watch their remarkable run.After college, Bev returned to Norwood to begin her career teaching second grade at Sharpsburg Primary School.
