Howard R. Long age 86 years of West Union Ohio passed away Monday August 17 2026 at the Ohio Valley Manor. Howard was born June 10 1940 to the late Orren Jennie Muir Long in Union City Pennsylvania. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by son Mark Long two sisters Patricia Leslie Nancy Heybeck. Howard retired from the Airforce after 20 years of service where he worked on Air Force One. After retirement he went to work as a private contractor at the Naval Research Lab for 12 years. Following that he went to the FBI Academy as a mail supervisor. He then was selected to go to the Department of Justice in D.C. where he was assigned to the Attorney Generals Command Center for five years and retired as a GS12. Cecil Shelton Jr. 81 of West Union passed away on August 12 2026 at the Adams County Manor. He was born August 3 1945 in Manchester Ohio to the late Cecil Senior Elouise Shelton. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters Betty Johnson Linda Fox and a brother John Shelton. Cecil graduated from Manchester High School in 1963. He married his high school sweetheart Christina Teagarden Shelton on August 7 1966. Sharing 60 years of love and devotion. Cecil joined the Army National Guard after graduation and worked for DPL Stuart Station for 39 years. He enjoyed playing sports such as basketball golf bowling and was an avid hunter most of his life. He also enjoyed running and exercising in his free time. Joe Young 63 of Manchester passed away Wednesday August 12 2026 at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati. He was born January 3 1963 in West Union son of the late Perk and Catherine Bartholomew Young. He is survived by his loving wife of 11 years Nika Rolph Young. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Bill Young and a nephew Bill. Joe was a skilled boilermaker and electrician who took great pride in his work. Outside of work he had a deep love for music and enjoyed attending concerts whenever he had the opportunity. He also loved spending time outdoors especially fishing and hunting and cherished the time spent pursuing the things he enjoyed most. Willard Carl Cole age 92 of Cedar Mills entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday August 17 2026. Carl was born June 14 1934 to the late Bruce and Eva Cole. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Larry Cole and by his beloved grandson Chay Richard DeMint. Carl married his wife Phyllis Tumbleson Cole on June 29 1956 sharing 70 years of love and devotion. He retired from General Electric at Peebles in 1996. Carl enjoyed his retirement years taking care of the farm going on bicycle rides and trips with Phyllis and spending time with his family.
