In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by son Mark Long two sisters Patricia Leslie Nancy Heybeck. Howard retired from the Airforce after 20 years of service where he worked on Air Force One. After retirement he went to work as a private contractor at the Naval Research Lab for 12 years. Following that he went to the FBI Academy as a mail supervisor. He then was selected to go to the Department of Justice in D.C. where he was assigned to the Attorney Generals Command Center for five years and retired as a GS12. Cecil Shelton Jr. 81 of West Union passed away on August 12 2026 at the Adams County Manor. He was born August 3 1945 in Manchester Ohio to the late Cecil Senior Elouise Shelton. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters Betty Johnson Linda Fox and a brother John Shelton. Cecil graduated from Manchester High School in 1963. He married his high school sweetheart Christina Teagarden Shelton on August 7 1966. Sharing 60 years of love and devotion. Cecil joined the Army National Guard after graduation and worked for DPL Stuart Station for 39 years. He enjoyed playing sports such as basketball golf bowling and was an avid hunter most of his life. He also enjoyed running and exercising in his free time. He is survived by his loving wife of 11 years Nika Rolph Young. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Bill Young and a nephew Bill. Joe was a skilled boilermaker and electrician who took great pride in his work. Outside of work he had a deep love for music and enjoyed attending concerts whenever he had the opportunity.
