Roy went to be with the Lord on October 11th in Willamette Valley Hospital at 7:01am. He was 79 years old. Roy was born on December 16, 1946 to parents Floyd Yates and Elva Bower. They resided in Pike, OR. He attended Yamhill Elementary through High School. In 1967 Roy met the love of his life, Sharon Milks. Not long after they married in November 29, 1969. In 1969, Roy was drafted into the Army and served in the Vietnam War until 1970; he was honorably discharged.After his return, Roy went on to build his family with his wife Sharon. They had two wonderful boys, Michael and Steven Yates. While building his family, Roy worked for Archway/Franz until his retirement in 2009. Roy enjoyed entertaining, cooking, playing card games, watching football, and playing with his boys and grandchildren.Roy really loved being a husband, father, and grandfather.
