Freda D. Tompkins 98 of Emporium PA formerly of Keating Summit passed away peacefully at Guy Mary Felt Manor in Emporium on Tuesday evening March 24 2026 following a lengthy illness. She was born March 10 1928 in Emporium PA a daughter of the late Roland and Ruth Beldin Reed. On July 23 1946 she married Eben E. Tompkins who preceded her in death. Freda was a lifelong resident of the area and attended school in Emporium. She was employed for many years at Sylvania until her retirement. A devoted and faithful member of the Keating Summit Methodist Church Freda was actively involved in her church community throughout her life. In her younger years she found great joy in bowling traveling and spending time with those she loved most. Marilyn June Ballou Shoup age 97 passed away peacefully on Monday March 30 2026 at Concordia at Bethlen. June was the daughter of the late Judson and Helen Burk Ballou. She was born on November 6 1928 in Peoria IL. She was a 1946 graduate of Emporium High School. It was there that she met the love of her life James Jim Shoup. The two enjoyed 71 years of marriage together before Jims passing in 2020 welcoming 2 children 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. After high school June attended school in Pittsbugh PA to become a beautician a job she enjoyed until staying home to raise her children. She and Jim built a beautiful life together in Emporium PA where they raised Dennis and Mary. They were active members of 4H as well as the Bucktailers Campers and Hikers.
