William E. Gilbert 68 of Boalsburg passed away on Sunday February 1 2026 at home. Born on August 15 1957 in Bellefonte he was the son of Bernadine Confer Gilbert of Boalsburg and the late Joseph Gilbert. On August 23 1975 he married Vickie L. Rider who survives. William graduated from Penns Valley High School in 1975 and enlisted with the United States Army 3 days after he was married in 1975 and served honorably until 1984. He held various jobs ranging from mechanical work to overall handyman. William loved spending time fishing and boating. He loved being in nature and enjoyed camping trips evolving from a tent to a camper and loved every minute of it. He was a quiet man of few words who enjoyed the comforts of home.
