He spent the early part of his life growing up in Castanea Pa. and graduated from Lock Haven High School in 1970. He worked for Piper Aircraft Corporation in Lock Haven Pa. Rockwell International Corporation in Columbus OH McDonnell Douglas Corporation in St. Louis MO and the Boeing Company. Dave enjoyed being outdoors. He liked camping and hiking in the mountains. Sylvia M. Ambrose Newberry 84 of Lock Haven Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on Saturday March 28 2026 at Nippenose Valley Village in Oval PA. Born March 16 1942 she was the daughter of Mae E. Confer Shearer and Archie W. Harman Shearer. A 1960 graduate of Jersey Shore Area Senior High School Sylvia built a life defined by dedication creativity quiet strength and remarkable resilience. She faced many hardships throughout her life yet she carried every burden with dignity and humilitynever complaining always grateful and meeting each challenge with grace and perseverance. Those who knew her admired her steady spirit her ability to endure without bitterness and her deep appreciation for even lifes simplest blessings. Cynthia Greninger

After graduating from Lewisburg High School in 1964 Cindy earned her teaching degree from Lock Haven State College. Cindy was a dedicated English and Drama teacher teaching at Middleburg for a year and then at Lock Haven Junior High School retiring after 33 years of teaching. Affectionately known as "Mrs. G." students loved her. When she was outandabout former students would often chat with her. In addition to her husband Richard Greninger of Lock Haven she is survived by her son Wade Greninger of Lock Haven and nephew Kevin Maureen Stephens of the Yorkarea.
