Dianna L. Schermerhorn Yost 60 of North East passed away on Monday May 4 2026 at her residence. She was born on July 31 1965 in Erie PA to the late Lorna Nordquest Schermerhorn. Dianna was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family shopping at Walmart watching TV and Pepsi with no sugar. Dianna was proceeded in death by her brothers Ronald Carey David J. Schermerhorn Bert Sensabaugh Danny Carey and her sister Shirley Jackson. She is survived by her husband James Yost Jr. son Bobby Yost and brothers John E. Schermerhorn of Washington Richard Schermerhorn of Westfield New York and Kenny Carey of Virginia. A private graveside service was conducted at Grahamville cemetery. She was a 1955 graduate of Albion High School. Following her education Donna began working as a waitress at Teeds Dinor in Albion. During this time she met her husband Raymond and together they started a family. Donna devoted many years to being a loving homemaker while raising their three children. Once her children reached high school age she reentered the workforce working as a cook at the Presbyterian Home. She also spent time working in the deli department at Weislogels ShurFine. Donna was an excellent cook and baker and will always be remembered by her family for bringing homemade chicken noodle soup and chocolate chip cookies whenever someone was sick. She loved working outdoors in her flower beds and tending to her gardens. Donna also enjoyed taking long car rides with her husband and attending car shows together. Mary graduated from Albion High School. Following her education she was a waitress at the Green Shingle in Fairview a wellknown restaurant and truck stop where she remained for many years. She later worked for Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield in Buffalo NY before continuing her career with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania until her retirement. At her heart and core Mary was adventurous. From an early age she loved to dance moving effortlessly with the music. That love of music led her to playing piano and singing talents she carried with her throughout her life. The outdoors was Marys sanctuary. She enjoyed long walks quiet moments in nature feeling the warmth of the sun a gentle breeze listening to and watching the animals for which Mary had a deep love. Barbara Louise Durst Volgstadt 81 of Erie PA passed away in her sleep on Sunday May 10 2026 at the Embassy nursing facility in Meadville PA. She passed away after a lengthy illness caused by heart disease. Barbara was a very caring kind and generous wife mother and aunt who had strong faith in God. She had attended the Kearsarge Church of God and later First Alliance Church of Erie. She greatly enjoyed Bible studies with her family and friends. Barbara was born in Greenville Pennsylvania on July 5 1944 to the late Gladys Shafer Durst and Maynard Durst. She attended Greenville High School and graduated with the Class of 1962. Barbara worked at the Greenville Paxtons Dinor where she met her husband Gerald Albert Volgstadt who was employed by Firchs Baking Company in Erie. The couple married on February 9 1963 and resided in Erie PA for 62 years.…
