William A. Bill Smith 65 of Williamsport PA passed away on March 31 2026 following a brief illness with pancreatic cancer. He was born on September 21 1960 in Williamsport to the late Leo Smith and Louise McCloskey Smith. Bill is survived by his wife Lori Perry Smith his son and daughterinlaw Nathan and Tasha Liddic and his grandchildren Xavier Angel Malachi Aubrey and Noah Liddic. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Lynn Smith his sister Sandy Simmons and his grandson Oliver Liddic. Bill graduated from Williamsport Area High School in 1978 and was a member of New Covenant United Church of Christ. He married Lori Liddic and together they would have celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary on October 29 2026. Bill left behind a legacy of creativity showmanship and community involvement. She worked at Metropolitan Life Insurance Company for over 30 years as an Administrator and then eventually as a supervisor of her division. Rev. Edgar L. Manns 19452026 passed away peacefully at Hillside Senior Living. He went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 28 after a long illness. Born in Scranton PA to Carl Lester Manns and Theresia Katherin Klein he was very active in Youth for Christ singing in a touring quartet called Men of Triumph. He attended Toccoa Falls College in Georgia meeting his first wife at a church where he served as music director. He also served as the college plumber for several years. Edgar pastored several churches in North Carolina Pennsylvania and New York state with the Christian and Missionary Alliance for 50 years. Known by many children as Uncle Edgar he introduced them to Christ through gospel magic and storytelling at camps and vacation Bible schools. Elery Newton Dougherty known lovingly to family and friends as "Newt" passed away peacefully on March 27 2026 at the age of 93 in Jersey Shore the same community where his story began. Born on September 23 1932 in Jersey Shore Newt lived a full and meaningful life rooted in family hard work and quiet devotion. In 1951 Newt answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Air Force where he served honorably until 1955. It was during his military service while stationed in Newfoundland Canada that he met the love of his life Hilda Sainsbury. The two married and built a life together that spanned an incredible 69 years. Their union was blessed with three sons and many beloved grandchildren. With great sadness we must announce the passing of William Rodney Andrews who departed this life on March 22nd 2026. William went by several names depending on who was speaking to him. Many including his wife and family called him Rod others called him Bill but to his two daughters he was simply Dad. Born of Evan Andrews and Martha Heltman Andrews Rod spent most of his life tending to the family farm in Loganton first as a dairy farm and later raising beef cattle. He graduated from Sugar Valley High School in 1969. He briefly enlisted in the National Guard but returned home due to his father suffering from illness. As well as his farm life Rod also worked for Piper and later for R.W. Bird Trucking out of Pleasant Gap driving tractortrailer. After retirement he spent most of his time on the farm.
