Shirley L. Sennett, 96, was a 74-year resident of Eldred. She was born September 5, 1929 and died on Tuesday, June 30. She had been a three-year resident of the Bradford Ecumenical Home.Born in Ridgway to Lee and Grace Oknefski Nearing, she was the eldest of 11 children. When she started school, she went to live with her maternal grandparents in Ridgway because the bus did go to their remote farm. After high school she met and married on September 10, 1949, John (Jack) Sennett, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded by two sons, Steven and Edward, and a daughter, Jane Ann, as well as 8 siblings.Shirley is survived by a daughter, Carol (Chris) Wurster of Bradford, two sons, David (Jan) Sennett of Pickerington, OH and Martin (Denise) Sennett of Bel Air, MD and a daughter-in-law, Sally Sennett of Boulder, CO.
