Joan M. Brown of Boynton Beach, FL; formerly of Derrick City, died on Thursday, October 8, 2026.Born July 6, 1931 in Derrick City. She was the daughter of Sidney and Julia Allio Cummings.On May 30, 1953 she married Richard L. Brown at the former St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church by the Rev. G. Carlton Ritchie. Richard preceded her in death on May 30, 2017.Mrs. Brown was a graduate of the Bradford Area High School class of 1949. She attended classes at the University of Buffalo and graduated in 1952 from the Millard Fillmore Hospital School of Nursing and became a Registered Nurse.Working experience was at Fort Leonard Wood, MO; as a civilian RN during 1953-1954 until her husband was honorably discharged from the Army.
