John J. Furphy age 97 passed away peacefully at home on October 11 2026 with his loving family by his side. He was born in Philadelphia to the late Francis J. and Eva nee Robidoux and was a longtime resident of the Lawncrest section of the city. John worked for many years in the textile industry dedicating himself to providing for his family. A talented man who was gifted with his hands he was a master woodworker who took great pride in creating beautiful pieces. He loved giving his work to others never expecting anything in return. For John the greatest reward was seeing the happiness his gifts brought to those he loved. In his younger years John enjoyed roller skating and traveling with his beloved wife Anna Mae.
