Sheila M. McCabe age 90 a 12year resident of Ellen Memorial Lane in Honesdale and formerly of Yonkers NY died Monday May 4 2026 at Ellen Memorial Health Care Center in Honesdale. Ms. McCabe was born December 2 1935 in Dobbs Ferry NY and was the daughter of the late James McCabe and the late Edith Gibbs McCabe OKane. She was a 1957 graduate of Benedictine Nursing School in Kingston NY and had a 35year career at Montefiore Hospital in Bronx NY in the cardiac unit. She loved all things Irish and enjoyed several trips to Ireland. Sheila was a member of the American Legion Post 311. Cremation will be at Lake Region Crematory in Lake Ariel and inurnment will be in St. Michaels Catholic Church Cemetery in Murrells Inlet SC at a future date. Sheila M. Helene Shiko Burgess age 88 of Hawley died on her birthday Thursday May 14 2026 at Julia Ribaudo Extended Care Center Lake Ariel. Born May 14 1938 in Shamokin PA Helene was the daughter of the late Stephen L. and Anna Gogots Shiko. After growing up in Passiac NJ she became a licensed practical nurse. A resident of Clifton NJ for most of her adult life Helene spent her career at the North Jersey Developmental Center. After her retirement she moved to Hawley PA where she was an active member of First Baptist Church of Hawley. She also enjoyed going to the Hawley Senior Citizen for their exercise classes. Helene was a deeply compassionate person and a friend to all. Her compassion even carried on to her furry cat friends that she cared for and they loved her in return with affection and keeping her company. She will be missed…

Catherine S. Turner 90 of Lookout passed away Sunday April 19 2026 at Wayne Woodlands Manor Waymart. She was preceded in death by her husband Myron J. Turner who passed Jan 28 2014. Born September 1 1935 in Callicoon NY she was a daughter of the late William and Lucille White Lacey. She was an avid crocheter which led to her opening Kathys Yarn Shop on the back porch of her home. The yarn shop grew and eventually overtook the family garage and became Kathys MiniMall. She and her husband operated the store for over 20 years.
