Born in Warwick Scott was the son of Richard E. Jarvela his wife Pamela of Florida and Gloria J. Roy Chapman of New Hampshire. Scott was the brother of Cheryl Hamel and her husband Richard of Florida and the late Eric R. Jarvela. He also leaves behind his nephews Bryan Hamel and Nathan Hamel both of Florida. Scott was the companion of Keri Cieply of Chepachet RI.

RICHARD J. HUGHES 85 of West Warwick passed away peacefully on Tuesday June 30 2026. He was the beloved husband of nearly 48 years to the late Doris Noel Hughes. After proudly serving his country in the United States Marine Corps Richard owned and operated Hughes Roofing before spending a twenty year career at General Dynamics Electric Boat Quonset Point. He then went on to work for Nooney Controls North Kingstown before his retirement. In his free time Richard enjoyed taking camping trips with his family around New England and wintering in Fort Myers Florida. He was a member of VFW Post 449 the Crompton Veterans Organization the American Legion Post 2 American Legion Post 323 Lehigh Acres FL and was a longtime member of the West Warwick Elks Lodge 1697. Dana F. Berube 74 of Richmond died at home on June 27 2026.He was the loving husband of Lorraine A. Pesce Berube.Born in Providence he was a son of the late Leo J. Berube and Regina McManus Berube. Mr. Berube was a lifelong native Rhode Islander. He was employed with Carbon Technology of Exeter from the age of 18.He enjoyed sailing telling silly puns and had a passion for cars.He was a member and newsletter editor for the Rhode Island Street Rodding Association car club for many years.He had an eye for craftsmanship and was a gifted mechanic and carpenter. In addition to his wife he leaves his son James D. Berube and his companion Laura Isbrandt of Kingston MA and his grandson Austin OBrien of Newport RI.He was the brother of the late David Berube and Carol Daniels.
