Walterine E. "Wally" Burns Deraleau 90 of Blackstone died May 13 2026 in HopeHealth Huiltar Inpatient Center Providence. She was the wife of the late Alfred G. "Fred" Deraleau. Born in Woonsocket she was the daughter of the late Richard M. and Carolina Elkinson Burns. Wally was extremely proud of Blackstone where she resided most of her life. The best times in her life were her years in Blackstone High School where she was proud of skipping school quite often. High school was where she met her future husband Fred Deraleau. They were married on May 28 1955 in St. Pauls Church. Wallys life after marriage was raising their four children. She only got her drivers license after Fred had a stroke at a very young age. Joe was a 1975 graduate of Blackstone Millville Regional High School. He was a heavy equipment operator and owned his own business for many years. Joe loved racing and spending time with his family. He started his racing career in 1976 at Westboro Speedway in the Street Stock division. He moved on to the Pro Four Modified Tour division in 1982 and in 1990 won the National Pro Four championship. He continued racing in various divisions within the northeast winning over 100 races until retiring from driving in 2009.
